Chances for acceptance in Engineering

I applied into engineering. I have a 27 act, 29 math act, top 7.5% of my class, 3.5 gpa, taking AP calculus, active in sports, clubs, volunteering.

You are likely good for CLA at the very least. What was your backup college?

My back up is Iowa State. I’ve been accepted in engineering there. Also applied to Illinois. Considering North Carolina State and Nebraska, mat be Wisconsin.

What did you put down for your second choice major on your University of Minnesota application?

UIUC is highly selective. At least as selective as CSE so I say that is a stretch. Are you IS for Wisconsin? Why NC State? What area of engineering do you want to study?

ISU is a very good back-up. Have you looked at their placement stats, very good? My choice of the above is either ISU or UM-TC.

Right now I am looking at Chem E, Materials Science and Eng, or Mech E. If I move away from engineering it would be geology.

UMN is tops for Chem E. ISU is strong in Materials. Both are good in ME. You are good to go with those two schools.
