I am currently a junior and I wanted to get some insight into what my chances look like for getting into UT Austin. I have been looking into majoring in physics, chemistry or actuarial science. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Holy god you advanced to TMSCA state, I made all 3 categories to regionals but none is good enough to go to states, you are real talented to get that far. With your stats, since you are not applying for engineering or architecture, I’d say you’ll get in like 90-95% chance, assuming you live in Texas.
One thing is make sure you apply early, like before Oct 15(their priority deadline), because i heard they admit as they review, the later you apply the less chance you have.
The class rank hurts you - primarily in the sense that you’re not auto admit. I have to ask… what sort of insane school are you and 500 other students attending? I don’t think top 12% with a 1510 SAT is typical.
Your class rank will hurt you considering UT’s admission style. UT takes into consideration the Top 7% of each public high school in Texas first. That leaves everyone else to fight for the leftover spots. If you take out the auto-admits, that really gives UT about a 15% acceptance rate. But your SAT score is very strong. I’d even suggest you take some SAT II’s to embellish that. With a strong SAT score, perhaps some good SAT II’s, polished essays, great recs, and a well put-together resume (make sure to use the Bevo template), I think you’ll have a solid shot. Good luck to you
You have an average chance to get in.
Try to raise your grade this year especially STEM classes, and write great essays.
