Hi, I'm a community college transfer with 82 credits.
I have 3.9 GPA and university background. However, I noticed that UW has top priority for 90 credits. Is this going to affect my transfer at all? I can take 5 more credits if this is going to make a difference

Never mind, UW said it doesn’t matter

Where did you hear that? On nearly all pieces of information I have received from them stated that the more useful credits the better and priority is for those with 90 or more credits.

i think that the priority lies with having an AA (which equals 90 credits)
If you have 90 credits but didn’t get the right combo to get you an AA, then it wouldn’t really matter if you have 82 or 90 credits

It’s 90 transferable credits or an AA. And, I don’t know who told the OP it didn’t matter because they told me it was a significant advantage.

Edit to add- The more your credits align with your intended degree the better (being prepared for your major). If you have 90 credits in whatever, or an AA with stuff you need for your degree then obviously the AA looks better.

I spoke to a UW admissions counselor ,

she said as long as I have completed all pre-reqs for my major I am fine. It doesn’t matter if I have 82 or 87, it’s close enough to 90 and what I have now is what they are looking for.
