Admissions chances are probably quite good. Not sure about merit scholarships though. RPI does not publish high detail regarding the basis for granting merit scholarships. Though expect to get lots of emails from them telling you that they have merit scholarships.

RPI uses SAT for merit aid. I would suggest calling their FA office, or on your own looking up conversions from ACT to SAT and running your numbers with that. A quick glance at a conversion chart would put you around 2100 for SAT, which is what my son got.

Merit aid my son got was lower than the NPC predicted, but they did give him more loans than expected. Merit aid was around 25% of tuition.

If you have financial need, you might be okay because they might consider that.

As for skipping a grade in Spanish, that’s not that impressive if you are Hispanic.

You are probably fine for getting in, merit aid seems to be weighted towards those with higher test scores though.

Excellent chance of getting in.

I wish I knew how they calculated merit aid but with the stats I’d probably expect something in the $30,000 range. Always write an appeal letter worst they can do is tell you no but good chance they’ll increase it.

I doubt 30K of aid with a 32 ACT. Maybe with a 34 ACT.

Our experience was extremely negative with the FA appeal, they were kind of rude and really didn’t care if there were one-time increases for the base year due to back pay and other reasons that could never recur. Couldn’t hurt to try.

My daughter had similar if not higher stats, more AP’s, recruited athlete, and was offered 14k in merit. It was by far her lowest merit award.

My daughter was awarded 1/2 tuition merit for similar scores. She applied ED1 and had quality high school leadership. Plus she lives out of state. So I think they must use more than just test scores, based on the various awards listed in this thread.

When my son was accepted several years ago, we appealed and received 10K more each year. We had an offer from a peer school, which we shared with them. They say it doesn’t matter, but in our case I think it did.

Wonder what the outcome was
