Chances for admissions/merit aid?

Hello! I am a white female from a small public school in Louisiana interested in applying to Northeastern, but I'd like to know if I have a good chance of being accepted and/or receiving enough financial aid (merit and need-based, as my estimated EFC is 0) for me to attend.

Stats:
Ranked 4/36 - I switched to accelerated high school in 10th grade and left due to health reasons a few months later, which resulted in two Bs on my transcript. They couldn't place more value on my college classes because they don't offer AP/Honors classes at my school. I'd be ranked 1st without a doubt if I hadn't switched schools.
3.9 GPA
30 ACT - taken three times, highest subscores are E 36, R 33, S 27, M 26, and I'm taking it again next month

ECs:

4 years Literary Rally - World Geography 2nd at State level, World History 3rd at State level
Senior Class Reporter
4 years Beta Club
2 years French Club
2 years Varsity Band
1 year Tutoring
8 years Gifted Program

I've also gone above and beyond what is normally offered at my school and have taken/am taking 8 classes through the Louisiana Virtual School online program, including Dual Enrollment Advanced Math and AP English Lit. I'm also taking US History to 1865 through the LSU Independent and Distance Learning Program for college credit. I'd like to major in either English or Journalism.

Thanks!

You’re a match for Northeastern, meaning you’re most likely in.

No clue about the amount of aid you’ll receive.

Thank you! Yeah, I haven’t found much information on specific amounts of aid given out, so I guess I’ll have to wait and see.

I had similar stats and recieved 14k merit aid

I think you’re in. Stats are above average for NEU and you’ve got geographic diversity going for you.

fyi… I had a 30 ACT and 3.9 GPA too and got 10k per year…

Thanks to everyone! I’ll probably still apply, but I doubt I’ll end up going if I only get $10k-$14k per year. :frowning: I know I won’t be making much money post-graduation so I can’t afford to go into too much debt.

With an EFC (estimated financial contribution) of 0, you should get much more (need based) aid that what others have indicated here.

If the FAFSA calculations show your estimated EFC is 0, then your college search should be geared toward schools that fill “full need” (ideally w/o loans). There are many CC threads that can guide you.

If you find colleges that you like that accept you and covers your full need (or most of it), there is no advantage to having merit scholarships.

match/in, espacially with the whole not living int he northeast thing
aid is given to the top 25% of the accepted students.
i had a 3.68/5.0 weighted and a 2070 SAT and received 12k/yr
hence, why i’m here.
