Chances for Albany?

<p>Hey guys, I'm just interested in what you think my chances are for Albany and also SUNY New Paltz. I will be applying soon, I'm an in-stater, and the rest is below:</p>

<p>Hispanic male from a competitive public school in NY state.
Language spoken at home: Spanish (if it matters at all)
GPA- 89.9, so about a 3.5 uw?
SAT- 570 CR, 600 M, 670 W, 11 essay 1170/1600 1840/2400
AP- 3- English Lang
AP- 2- USH</p>

<p>my son had a similar gpa but his sat was a bit higher at 1250/1600. He was wait listed for new paltz and then about 2 weeks later accepted, he was accepted at albany almost immediately as well as stony brook. He decided on Albany...and he is very happy there. Major factor against both NP and Stony(in his mind) was that a lot of kids go home on the weekends.</p>

<p>Oh. Is NP a commuter school then?</p>

<p>My daughter is a senior at NP & LOVES it. She has never commented on lame weekends...actually there is a good music scene there. We've gone on the weekends & see people everywhere. SUNY NP was an all-around great time for her!</p>
