Chances for all Ivys (CS)

I am international student. I intend to apply for CS and I'd like you to decide whether I stand a chance :)

MY SAT : 2250

My average : 9.6/10 (it is 10-point based grading system)

I am on my Gap year now on which I worked in a software company where I learned programming from scratch. Recently built my first medium level bank security system...

I didn't have any CS lessons in school because it was not offered in my small town and I found that I prefer CS just one year ago.

EC: Accordionist. Won several competitions in Europe and International World's Contest in Italy( some people said it is a good substitute for Olympiad of the subject you want to study because it shows dedication, no?)

Volunteered in military service from 11th grade every summer. Around 1000h + of service.

Won Biology, Chemistry Olympiads at National Level..though I don't believe that would mean anything because I apply for CS.

Learned two languages on my own and I am fluent in both of them. Did this in two years.

I have a hobby of beekeeping. I learned this art from my grandfather and earn nice amount of money from the honey...If that makes any difference lol. :)

That's it. Comment and tell me pure truth.

I have very few ECs but I believe it is a lot better than just dabble into hundreds..

You’re likely to be the only beekeeping accordionist with military service who applies. That will make you unforgettable.

You sound like a well-qualified candidate, and your numbers certainly are good enough. Admission is always a random chance, but I think yours will be promising (as long as you don’t talk about plans to keep beehives or automatic weapons in your dorm room).

Your application would look to be competitive at any school (including all ivies) to which you choose to apply.

This being said, each of the Ivies, so-called Ivy Peers and other highly competitive US colleges receive many many more competitive applications than they can possibly accept. While your ECs will present a unique application (which is a plus), no one has figured out how the Ivies choose amongst qualified applicants.

So, if your goal is to go to school in the US, you should also consider several of the many excellent schools that have somewhat easier admissions standards as well as a few safety schools. This is the advice people here would give to any US student and is at least as applicable to an international applicant.

Thank you for entertaining reply, Wordworker and I’m happy to receive your opinion too, zephyr15. ivy League is not my only target because I know that there are many more amazing people out there who crave admission as much as I do.
