Chances for all UC's. Will chance back. Thank You.

Hello. I am a rising senior currently going to a California Distinguished School. I am also pursuing a IB diploma. I am Indian and want to be a neurosurgeon, which would be Health Science Major, I think. So Please Chance me for all UC's and if possible, then University of Michigan.
Cumulative GPA Weighted-4.05
UW-3.717
10-12 GPA Weighted-4.259
UW-3.77
UC Weighted GPA-4.07
UW-3.81

SAT-2150 M-750 CR-700 W-700
SAT II- Biology-750 Chemistry-750 (Assumptions)

AP and IB exams are all 4 and 5 except World History was a 3.

I don't which extracurriculars to use for you guys to chance me, so Im putting most of them.

Exc's- I helped a poor village in India during summer time and have letters from doctors over there who worked in the hospitals.

Clubs:
Treasurer for poetry club- 2yrs
CSF member- 2 yrs
Mecha club-4 yrs
Future Doctors of America-2 yrs.
National Honor Society- For IB 2 yrs. (After I moved to my new school in Junior year)
Local County Art Awards in Freshman Year.( 3 first places, 2 second places, 1 fourth place).
Volunteered from 10th grade in summer in a Virginia Hospital. (Will Continue some more Volunteering for IB CAS Hours).

I do not have a lot of extracurriculars or volunteering.

I had to move at the beginning of junior year but continued with IB, so i don't know how this will affect my chances. I prize my exc's on the art awards.

My letters might include having to move almost 5 times and this brought my grade down in freshman year. I moved at the beginning of my junior year too. My uncle also died in sophomore year and he raised me in my childhood before I had moved to U.S. The stress of constantly moving and making new friends held me back, but I have not gotten a C ever. I believe the personal statement, Letters of Recommendation and Essays will be good. I believe IB is loved by the UC's too. So, Please Chance me for all UC's since I only want to get into any UC or University of Michigan. I am in-state and have gone to all the best public schools in my area and my family has $250,000 income too. I also took all the hardest courses with 2 sciences in one year. Thank You and I will chance back to the best of my knowledge.

Cal, LA - high matches to low reach
SD - low match
all others - safeties

UC Berk- low reach b/c of EC’s and then test score is a little low on top of that being Asian
UCLA- High Match/Match EC’s mainly the problem here
UCSD- Match
All other EC’s are safeties

UMich- I’d say you’re a Match here. EC’s might hurt you because all state schools look hard on EC’s because of the abundance of applicants and you’re OOS

chance me back bud!

My execs are for 2 yrs at a time because I moved in junior year. I did some clubs at both schools. I also signed up as an American heart association member volunteer but never got to go help anywhere so I dont think I can use that. Would I at least make Davis?

Bump!!! Anyone else have opinions? Is neuroscience doable with my stats at the ucs? Should I go in as undecided an then transfer? I’m not sure if I’m good especially with my majors.

well, the thing is that is it getting more competitive and less likely that u will be able to transfer if u do get in. Ur stats look pretty good, sat looks qualified even if a little on the low side… but I think the fact htat u helped out in another third world country is pretty cool, and im indian too=) youd prob. make it to everything except cal, and la which may be high match/reach. chance me back=) “UC Chances Por Favor”

And my final question is that since I’m trying to go to a med school after college, does it matter how I did in high school? Also would there be a difference when I apply to med school if I went to a high rated college such as uc la vs uc irvine but got the same gpa and everything else? Does the school itself matter when I apply to med school? I think I will at least definitely make irvine or above so would going to a " less prestigious" school alter my chances for med school?

I would say that UCLA and UCB are both high matches, obviously Berkeley being a bit higher than LA but I think you’ve got a decent shot at both, especially if you rock your essays and your teachers rock your recommendations. San Diego is a low match to match, I don’t think you’ll have too much of a problem getting in there. All of the others you should get in. I don’t think high school matters for med school, and yeah it does look better if you go to a “better” UC but all of the UC’s are at least well respected as far as I know.
