<p>Could someone please chance me for Amherst? I am a rising senior. My GPA is 4.0, unweighted. I have taken 4 AP's (World, US, Lang, and Calc BC) and next yr will take 2 more, Psych and Chem, plus Calc 3 at our local university. My ACT composite has been 34 twice with a superscore of 35. My SAT II's are: Math 2- 800; U.S. History- 760. AP scores: only have 1 of the 4 back so far, World Hx- 4. I might get Natl Merit Semifinalist (PSAT 213; my state has not had above 213 in the past 5 years). My EC's: Band- concert, marching, and percussion ensemble; made All-State Band the past 3 years (1st chair each year); choir; Show Choir for 12th grade; volunteering w/ school helping underpriveleged children weekly; Calc Club; Natl Spanish Honor Society; Natl Honor Society; Break Dance Club. Non-School EC's: volunteer playing piano for the elderly; church youth group.// Leadership: 1) VP of NHS; 2) Field Commander for Band; 3) Core Leader for volunteering club. Honors: 1) Shelter Insurance Scholarship (best 2 9th graders)- $1500; 2) Won post level of Voice of Democracy competition for 3 years (won $500 each year). Do I have a chance for Amherst?</p>
<p>Hard to tell. good GPA and good stats. Your Ecs don’t really tell a story though. I have a tough time of getting a sense of who you are. Your ECs are good so if you can really tune down and focus the ones you like the most, you’ll probably get in.
Good luck!
Chance me back?
