<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I am an artist, and hopefully that may provide some sort of hook. If you would like to see my art to get a better idea of my chances, please send me a PM and I will send you a link back immediately.</p>

<p>A Brief Profile:</p>

<p>GPA: ~3.8/4.0 on a 4.0 A, 3.0 B scale. (Extremely rigorous private, upward trend, unranking school, and I'm guessing around the top 10%. Last year, ~16% went to ivies/stanford)</p>

<p>SAT: ~2300 superscored
SATII: 2310 combined (800,790,720)</p>

<p>ECs: Art (again, PM me for portfolio, a few professional shows, years and years of dedication/lessons/commitment, but no major awards.)
Three major (Pres/Capt) leadership positions (awards and commitment in these clubs/activities)
Science Research
Volunteering (some of it is art-related too)
Minor clubs with minor leadership, etc.</p>

<p>Recs: Very,very solid. Teacher and Counselor recs will probably be top 10% to top 1%. </p>

<p>Essays: Very solid as well. Commonapp will probably be extremely honest and personal about my art & my culture, another will probably be more stylistically more light-hearted and humorous.</p>

<p>Supplements: Art portfolio definitely. Art teacher rec, possibly, and that would be one-of-best-in-career type thing.</p>

<p>Intended Major: If dual major, art & psychology/sociology/biology. If single major, psych/socio/bio and a minor in art.</p>

<p>Personal: Male, and unfortunately, ORM. No major hooks or anything.</p>

<p>Pretty good chances at most schools I would say. Have you considered applying to more art-oriented schools such as : RISD, Carnegie Mellon, or Pratt ?</p>

<p>I love my academics (science, history, english, math, all of it) so I don’t think I’d apply to art school. I’ve considered RISD but only as a dual degree with Brown, but that’s so competitive and I don’t really know about living between two schools. I will look into Pratt and Carnegie Mellon a bit. <p>Your stat are very solid, Pastel!
Your concentration on art will also be a good hook for the adcom.
Ivies are always a mystery, but I think you have really good chance-50/50 or above.
