Could you please chance me at the following schools?

Reed College applying EDII
UChicago applying EA
Bard College applying EA
Lewis and Clark College applying EA
Whitman College
Grinnell College
Skidmore College
maybe Middlebury College

Your input is much appreciated.

Hey, if you are thinking about Bard and Reed, have you considered looking at Bennington? You look like a match and they have very strong art and Language programs. Also, being male is a plus!

I really don't know much about Lewis and Clark or Whitman, but here's what I think about the rest given the information you provided:

Reaches:
UChicago
Reed
Middlebury

Also, your numbers are a little low for Bard, it has recently become much harder to get in to

Matches:
Skidmore
Grinnell

I also second looking at Bennington. Your GPA and ACT are a match and I think that with your background in Art and interest in Languages, admissions would really like you. Also, I go there and I love it so I am biased :-)

What is the gender ratio at Bennington?

And any other thoughts?

Bennington has been about 35% male since I have been there but I know there is going to be a bigger than usual freshman class in September and I am not sure if that ratio will still be the case, I would think they are trying to make it a little more balanced. Anyway, something close to that.

Any other thoughts on chances?

I looked into Bennigton, but the gender ratio concerned me. Also, the tuition for Bennington seems a bit steep for a liberal arts education. Then again, Bard rivals its price...Perhaps Bennington is not so bad.

Still, I would deeply appreciate further thoughts on my chances and any reccommendations on colleges I should consider.

Your GPA may also be a problem at your matches. What's your rank?

I don't think my school ranks, but though my GPA is low, I would tend to believe I'm in the top 50%, maybe 40%. That's not saying much though...I know a 3.5 is not perfect, but I'm hoping admissions will notice my consistency to passions and academic interests, not necessarily having taken the most honors, AP courses, super duper GPA, etc.

being a male from arizona, you'd have a great shot at connecticut college which has an excellent reputation in the arts, international relations/languages and well established connections in east asian countries

Is Connecticut College at all preppy?

Check out Goucher.
They would support and value your language interests.

in the past conn has had a preppy reputation, but over the past 10 years, it has become very liberal, artsy, and socially/enviromentally active.
