Chances for an athlete

If a coach wants you for a sport (not a big revenue sport like football or basketball) and your stats are just a little low, such as a UC GPA in my daughter’s case of 3.5 at the end of sophomore year, probably a 3.6 or 3.7 by the end of this her junior year, will that help get her in? We are in-state, so the money is not the critical factor, we are more looking for an admissions boost. How does that work? She is getting emails from the coaches at UCSB and UCD. She is a varsity athlete, all league and all-area and stuff like that, but not a huge star like to go to the Olympics or something.

thats probably pretty high actually for a athlete that wants to play college.
