Chances for an average Florida kid

let's try this again.

I'm a senior in high school In Florida. I have a 3.3-3.4 weighted gpa. African American male. I earned a 22 on the act(which I plan to retake next Saturday) and a 1600 on the sat writing. I've held a job for the last year while I have a couple of extracurriculars at my school and a lot of service work at my church. my intended major is in mass communications-broadcast journalism.

The schools I'm aiming for:
LSU
FSU
USF
Ole miss
Alabama
Miss State
Troy

my tops are obviously the first 3. I talked with the lsu admissions office today and they confirmed that my decision letter is in the mail.

so tell me, what are my chances that that decision letter says "congratulations" instead of "we regret to inform you." and what are my chances at the other listed schools. please help. I'm excited/nervous. will chance back.

You have great chances at all of them, you have a hook and your GPA / scores are acceptable for those schools. I say you are in at LSU and in at least 5/7

Good luck man

thanks. my gpa is good, but I know it could be better and I couldve done better. what’s killing me is the fact that I know I’m competing with kids with 3.7+ gpa’s and 27+ on the act. I know I have a good shot, I just feel sort of intimidated and outmatched.

FSU you’ll get into. LSU more than likely as well. USF i’m not so sure about… i’ve hear the admissions process there is somewhat difficult.

chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/792852-am-i-average-chance-me.html#post1063358004

no usf is much easier to get into than fsu. fsu might be a close call, but i definitely think you’ll be accepted to lsu and usf. the others i don’t know enough about to chance you. good luck!

Get into Florida State with a 22 ACT and a 3.4 weighted GPA? Not a sure thing at all - unless you get into FSU’s CARE program.

The average FSU freshman has a 1265/1600 SAT or a 28 ACT.
