Chances...for an average student...please?:)

OK...so here it goes:

GPA:
=3.53 (9, 10, 11)
=3.50 (10, 11)

Courseload:
-2 honors/AP each year
-Advanced level/honors math (though I did drop into precalculus from precal honors because the latter class was simply too hard and I didn't do too well....I did very well in precalculus though)

SATII:
-US History 740
-Math IIC 650 (retaking)
-Biology 630 (forget it, I'm not retaking.)
-French 610 (retaking)

ACT:
-Taking in september (I took a practice test for 2 hrs 45 minutes with no breaks from the red book and got a 29...so after ungodly amounts of studying, I expect a 31, 32 or 33 if I do well.

AP:
-Calculus AB
-Economics
-Environmental Science
-European History
-French Language: 2
-United States History: 5

Extracurriculars:
-Will be copresident of Amnesty International as a senior (4 year member)
-Environmental Club (4 year member)
-JSA (new club, junior and senior years)
-Symposium Committee (executive council)
-100 or so hours of community service

Other stuff to consider:
-I'm instate in California.
-I'll have really good recommendations.
-I attended this program in international business and management at Dickinson College over the summer and I got a really good recommendation. I got like an A and a B+/A- so that's like a 3.65 or 3.85 GPA. There's college credit involved in this.
-I guess I'm the first person to go to college at the UNDERGRADUATE level in the US in my immediate family...I guess this doesn't count since my mom went to grad school here and my dad has a PhD.
-I don't have legacies anywhere.
-I visited NYU, BU, BC and Wesleyan in the summer.
-I go to a pretty competitive high school where the cumulative average is around 3.0 and where around 30% of students go to top schools.

Intended major: Economics or Finance, Psychology

Tentative List: (by the way this is a preliminary list, so don't think I'm applying to all of them)

definitely above average!

but i will say that:

"I'm wondering if I should do NYU ED or UVa ED.."

annoys me bc ED should be based on which one u like more

you obviously havent done much research

I obviously like both schools equally.....

futurenyustudent, you aren't notified about the national merit scholarship until later in the fall.

Please help.....any input would be appreciated...:)

jesus 3.5/2020 isn't average, nor are the colleges you are applying to... so grow some self esteem, or a sense of perspective

Good shot at college park, if you had higher SATs you might get into thier honors program

Stop making chances threads. This is your 10th chances thread you've made. You don't need help, you're just lacking an extreme amount of self confidence.

OMG.. what is wrong with people on this site. Seriously people, you need some help... there is no reason whatsoever to be so harsh and so rude. If u dont like what the OP has written or is doing, then ignore him instead of wasting your precious little lives reprimanding him instead of giving him the advice he needs. Really, there is no need to act like a bunch of pricks like this.

Yeah A2Wolves, d bag, are u counting his threads, is that what u do have a tally sheet of chances threads...get off ur computer stop jerking off and get a life. Your good playa all but NYU/Mich/UVA/USC slight slight reach (that school sucks balls anyways ucla the best)

I don't think i'm the one with issues after reading that post.

And it's not that hard to find out how many threads someone has created with the search tool.

why WOULD u waste ur time finding out how many threads someone has made for the mere sake of attacking them about it... really, ur better of doing something else..... thats just lame.
