Stanford - 0%
Yale - 0%

U of Chicago - 0%

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - Not sure
Syracuse - 50%
U of Texas - 40% (instate), 10% (out)
U of Tulsa - too obscure too know
U of Denver - not familiar

I'm not doing this to be mean, but realistically your chance is 0% at many of those schools. If your parents are billionaires, your chance might be different. But of course, if they were, you wouldn't be here asking us, you would have a private consultant working on your application. Save your money and apply to schools within your reach (realistically).

Please add U of Arizona in there.

What are my chances of getting deferred at those schools?

Is the Counselor-O-Matic on princetonreview.com any accurate? It says that my good matches are Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, NYU, USC, Yale, Amherst, Dartmouth, Harvey Mudd, John Hopkins, and Rice.

Woah thats way off lol. AT least raise the CR to a 650, math to a 750 and writing to a 650 to even consider those IV's as a reach.
arizona - probably a match or so..
wow my 1500th post!! Noo meant to go on the MIT boards.

Arizona would be a safe match. Seriously though, if you up that critical reading score 100 points, many more opportunities open up. Your GPA is certainly good enough.

Isn't it too late to increase those scores? :(

Check with schools. SOME allow january SAT scores.

Yes, but the ones I want only allow December SAT scores. Should I use my ACT or SAT scores?

Its too late, none of those schools are gonna let you in.

btw, this is one of the funniest threads ever since the OP is serious.

I commend HeavenWood for being one of the few, if not only, to repsond to this post in an unpretentious and humble manner. Pianist89 the majority of those schools are reaches and I would recommend looking at universities that are in your range. You need to include more matches, so that you will have options in April. I'm not trying to discourage you and you should definitely apply to some of them, but only as reaches. Good Luck.

No one on this site is qualified to inform you of your chances. Actually, you may even be admitted over some of the people who have previously posted, as their self-righteousness and callousness is sure to reflect in their application.

JPOD I would expect more of you considering...

Well OBVIOUSLY they are reaches, didn't I ALREADY STATE that in the beginning? It's ONE OF THE FIRST statements I make. Of course I've already applied to a bunch of safety and good match schools, that's why I'm only asking for opinions on the ones I listed. Yeesh, I'm only asking if I should try to apply to those or not, you guys don't have to get all snotty about it.

q, if you're implying that i'm average myself, I know. I dont deny that. But I didnt bother wasting time and money applying to my dream schools because I know I have no chance (UNC, UVA, UMich, NW, UF). Whatevs.

I was implying no such thing. Actually, I don't believe in "average". We are all unique: metaphorically and literally. I was merely stating, from previous conversations we have had, that you are aware of the pangs of harsh comments and cruel stigmas and subsequently should be more attune to Pianist's position.

I understand. But still...Some people shouldnt be living in fantasy land ;)

hey jPoD since ur probly gona get into BU and my friend Aaron will too, say hi to him for me next year when college starts, if I'm not accepted to BU or if I'm accepted to NYU. xD

I can spend as much money and as much time for applications as I want. jPoD, just because you're on a budget and spending your time doing something useless, doesn't mean I am.

I have no budget. I could apply to the flagship state school of each of the fifty states no problem. I wouldnt bother.
