Chances for an Average Student

pianist, I commend you for going out of your way and actually posting a chances thread, but I'm going to be real with you just like I am with myself:

Scores like ours (1860) are what makes us weak applicants. If SAT scores were a non-issue I'm sure we could get into the schools that we wanted to, but sadly...that cannot be. Your GPA is fantastic, which helps but really...the only thing that can save you (or me) are our essays and rec letters.

I'm sorry...but our chances are pretty minimal; however, I applaud you for trying.

And remember...you could always just transfer after two years.

Good luck with everything.

Pianist89 you should not be insulting anyone. Just because others have responded in a negative manner does not give you the right to do so. Are we really going to argue over who's wallet is bigger? Wow, let's have a spitting contest why don't we.

Cuz we know I'd win eh q ;)

how about a "who can get the most numbers at teh mall" contest. I love those.

Cant say I win that. Being short(er) sucks. Anyway, i'm gone. later krn.

c ya man. sigh i should really get started on my physics h.w....

jPoD why are you applying to college now when you should already be a college freshman

JPOD: No, because I'm sure I would lose ;).

To answer your Q, I was held back in kindergarten. I attest it to not being able (willing?) to share. It was for the better. I'm glad my parents did that.

How does he know your age?

It's in my profile.

Pianist again that was another cheapshot. I graduated at sixteen, but that does NOT make me any smarter than those that graduate at eighteen. The fact that JPOD will graduate later than most doesn't make him any less intelligent.

It's kool. I really dont care what he says. I'm not a super senior. That's all that matters.

Either way, you shouldn't have to put up with comments like that.

cool
an average student who say's they are an average student. (usually super smart people say...chance me, average student cause they dont have a perfect gpa or somethin)

anyway
im not sure why ur asking for chances with most of those schools cause most of them are way above ur level,
but
there are still alot of good colleges u could go to (not top 50 or anything but top 100's yes)

I didn't put him down, I just asked him a simple question. You guys read way more into posts than what is there.

You said it in a demeaning fashion though...

My original reply to this thread was going to be kind, albeit realistic. However, you've proven in your subsequent posts to not only have abysmally low scores for the colleges you are aiming towards, but also some pretty nasty personal qualities that would likely shine through in your essay.

I would say do yourself a favor and save your application fees for Stanford, Yale, Duke, Brown, UChicago, Northwestern, USC, and John Hopkins and pray some of the others will admit you.

LOL how do you have a 3.8+ GPA with THOSE scores? don't give me that bull about how you're "not a good test taker." unless you didn't take any AP courses, I don't see how, with your test scores, your GPA and rank is so high. talk about grade inflation. the SAT and ACT are APTITUDE tests and they're indicative of your knowledge level. you don't see kids at elite HS in the top 5% boasting those kinds of test scores.

i agree with everyone else on here. don't even bother applying to anywhere but your CC. or you can just forgo college all together and flip burgers at McDonalds. didn't you hear? they're planning to raise minimum wage to 7.50 USD...

Now that was far ruder than any other statements in this thread. Don't be crass.
