Bump 10char

:D

any other takers before i kill this thread? :p

What is your “UC GPA”?

Do you have any other preferences? Size? Location? Cost ; will you have to have the entire cost of attendance met with financial aid? Majors? “Diversity”? Extracurriculars?

I’m looking at Sociology, Pschology, Ethnic Studies, Anthropology…something is those fields as a future major. Size isn’t important and location is only slightly important (preferably CA).

you never know you might get into all of them, the single parent+your outstanding GPA+low income+first generation can/will probably carry heavy weight. Apply to some IVYs as well, like Cornell. Good luck mate!

Half-month bump? :/

Definitely apply to some ivies or similar schools that haves lots of FA.

Do I really have a shot at Ivys?

A shot. But not a guarantee. The benefit of making it in outweighs the cost of rejection though.

A few years ago, I saw something about the UCs not hooking “1st gen” anymore- or reducing the extra advantage to something miniscule . Worth checking. I think they said the pool of 1st gens was so strong that they don’t need to offer special consideration. Ie, plenty get admitted based on their merits. ???

Hmm, perhaps. I don’t quite know.

Any other takers?
