thanks :)
i just hope they don't see a 3.6 gpa and think i'm stupid or something..
i mean my freshman year i made straight a's and i was in honors, then i entered ib and i've had a 3.5 each year since.. i hope they don't underestimate how challenging IB really is... =(

I applied last year and my stats were VERY similar to yours (IB, a few APs, 1300 SAT, 4.6 gpa weighted, lots of clubs and community service, track, and theater) and I got in. you probably will, too. I don't know anyone who was in IB and got at least a 1300 SAT that was rejected last year. good luck! :D

your GPA is great...some people in IB with GPAs close to 3.0 got accepted...i'd say if you have a 3.5 or above in all IB classes you will get in

Just one thing-Keep in mind that I think you're in. UF takes A LOT of IB students.

You can't have a 3.6 uw GPA and a 4.8 W GPA. It's physically impossible. Even if you took all AP classes, that only bumps your UF-Calculated GPA up 1 full point.( And I know you haven't taken ALL AP classes since freshman year). For the UF-calculated GPA, Honors is weighted .5, and AP/IB(not pre-ib) is weighted 1 extra point.

Anyway, I still think you're going to get in, just try to bump up the test scores a bit and for sure you're in. (about 1350)

Actually, graj08, it is definitely possible.

In Miami-Dade County I know that they add up the number of extra points you get (2 for AP/IBs and 1 for Honors), divide that number by fifteen, and add that to your unweighted GPA.

I went to a high scool in Miami-Dade county, and my unweighted GPA was close to a 3.6. However, my weighted was a 4.9 when I applied to UF, but I don't know what my GPA was when UF calculated when I applied.

I know, I'm just saying, when asking for chances for admission to uf, one should recalculate GPA into UF terms. (.5 for honors, 1 for AP/IB) to facilitate comparison to admitted students. That's exactly what UF does.
