Chances for an Indian at Stanford

I am Indian studying in the Indian CBSE syllabus.

ECs

  1. Pretty good with computers and programming. Mobile App developer. Have designed websites for many people. Have degrees in Multimedia softwares from the World Organisations. Have participated in several movie making competitions.
  2. Music - Keyboard for 9 years, finished grade 8 with distinction. Saxophone for 4 years, lead player in my school's brass band. Have participated in several national programs. I also compose and reproduce music often and I have a channel on youtube.
  3. Puzzles - Chess player, have participated in several competitions. Rubik's cube participated in a national event and secured a position in top 10 in the country.
  4. Sports - I was in my high school basketball team and have participated in several competitions. I often play squash too. I am also an athlete. I have also learnt Karate for 5 years unto the level of black belt.
  5. Other : Participated in the F! in schools competition and have reached the national level.

Internships

I have worked in two companies for 3 weeks each.

I am not planning to apply for Financial Aid.
I am an international applicant.
I am planning to major in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

I think you have a pretty solid chance. What about your essays and letters of rec? Those count too.

I’d say you have a solid chance, but Indian applicants are so hypercompetitive that I can’t say with certainty. I think only an accepted Indian student or someone at Stanford who knows a lot of Indian students can really tell you if you’re competitive in the Indian pool.

It’ll be really tough. Your ECs and stats are good, but you’re international in a very competitive country. Expect to be rejected but you never know.
