So how does it look for me so far? I am also thinking of applying RD to other ivies. Thanks in advance.

If you’re considered international by MIT, you can’t apply EA – all international applicants have to apply RD.

Really^^? Then how do I fare now?

Well, MIT doesn’t advantage applicants in the EA pool – simply applying early does nothing to help you get into MIT.

It’s tough to be an international applicant at MIT in general, just because MIT has a quota on international applicants, so only about 100 international students are selected each year from around 2000 applicants. More information on international applications is here, from Matt.

2000 ? My stomach is churning ! :|

This link lists the states and countries of incoming students in the class of 2012, both U.S. and international, and it indicates the numbers of students admitted from each region: [Summer Send-Off Locations](http://alum.mit.edu/ccg/parents/send-offlocations.html).

You seem like an interesting person with lots of interests, as well someone who’s strong in the classroom and the laboratory. Best of luck to you.
