Chances please??
Thank you in advace :)

just a few words in addition -
I’m considering my GPA as the weakest factor. I didn’t care much about school work in 10th grade, and when I did in the 11th and 12th years I selected most rigorous courses + crammed a lot of researching into my tight schedule.

and there it goes… bump

Research Internships

How did you do the International Olympiad in Informatics during the Summer then?

Anyways, if this is real, I’d say you have extremely strong chances.

“Our school sents about 40% of the graduating class to HYPMSC”
Is such a thing even real? Most ivies have international admittance rates in the 1-2%

holy crap

I didn’t know any school sent 40% to HYPSMC.

On second thought, do you go to school in Korea? I know some schools like Minjok sends A LOT of students to top tier US colleges each year.

GPAx213 //
Yeah I go to Minjok how did you know about our school?
Oh and I think 40% HYPMSC might be an exaggeration
however, were it be HYMPSC + other ivies (cornell, columbia, dartmouth)
then it would be around 40%
Last year’s graduating class we had 21 HYPMSC students out of 90

and Equilibrium //
I didn’t go to IOI; just stayed at national level ( top ranking tho  )
and yes, our school does have such high acceptance rates to top US schools even tho most of us are non US citizens.
Our average SAT score for the entire student body is 2250.

Harvard gogo zzz

One word: Wow!

That’s truly incredible. I’ve actually enjoyed reading your resume. Lots of gold/1st place prizes. Second place from the IEEE!!!

Well done!

OMG you go to minjok? You must be super smart!!

Minjok is really famous worldwide (at least to people who are interested in highly renown high schools)

That 40% admit rate is only a bit exaggerated, from what I hear, your school is truly amazing.

You do know your school has the highest average SAT score in the world right? Much higher than that of any other school even in US.

I’d say you are match (70% chance) for HYPSMC. You will definitely get into at least two of them.

For those of you who do not know this school, [Korean Minjok Leadership Academy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Korean Minjok Leadership Academy - Wikipedia)

I would say your high school is possibly the best/most rigorous high school in the world.

:o
you directed “lies”…by big bang?
i watched a documentary on your school a few weeks ago…simply AMAZING.
how do you balance your schedule so well? how do you stay so focused and motivated? HOW DO YOU DO THIS?!?!?!?
seriously, can i have your autograph? :D

haha i want your autograph too.

also the directing of “lies” by bigbang was a re-edit or something right? You didn’t actually direct the real one..?

I read the book the valedictorian of your school like couple years ago wrote about studying. Truly amazing.

GPAx213, leanlikeacello //
Yes I directed a parody version of M/V “lies” by big bang with my schoolmates
and for all the others,
Thanks for the compliments.. it really flatters me.
Though I would also appreciate some critical opinions

Oh and your recommendation sounds awesome. If a teacher at your school said that you are “literally the most genius kid he met in his career,” I would be surprised if you didn’t get into MIT.

Let me rephrase my chances..

MIT - IN (90%+ chance)
Stanford - IN (slightly less chance than at MIT, but still good nonetheless)

And I suggest you apply to Cal Tech. Its academics (also science and math oriented) are in par with MIT (I’m sure you already know this).

Your gpa is not at all weak. UW gpa of 3.97 means that you probably got only 1 B in your entire high school career. You are possibly one of the most qualified international applicant for college admissions this fall.

It is 3.97 weighted.
Out of 4.3<= x < 4.4 , where x is the highest GPA in our grade

If it was 3.97 uw, I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

Oh I see..

Well they do see your gpa in context of the school you went to. Some of the top high schools in US sends many kids to HYPS and many of them don’t necessarily have 3.5+ UW gpa. Most US colleges do know how rigorous your school is so they will take that into consideration when they evaluate your application.

I wish I had your brain… And you ECs… And your awards…

But in my body :P

Wow, this makes me look pathetic… :D

wow. I’m breathless. lol.

jeon noon e ban hae sseo. that’s like all the korean i know hahaha.

Do you have an approximate rank, just to put your GPA in context?
