your stats are good but one prob--ur international, you're going to have stiff competition, you need some backups bc places like michigan don't take very many, (last year they had 220 students out of a class of 6000) its just that probability is working against you. good luck, but remember that statistically, its not likely.

220 sounds kind of low. Usually Michigan has closer to 300 international students per class...but you are right, internationals face stiff competition.

yikes... I'd thought that univs nowadays want intl students so we'd have better chances but come to think of it now, yeah, with the low percentages of intl students...

yeah you're a great student but you're outnumbered, its a lottery buddy. good luck--i suggest you consider :
St Olaf's in Minnesota they are desperate for internationals, good liberal arts school
Vassar
Whitman
UMass Amherst
UConn (univ. of connecticut)
VATech

Think about it. On average most universities have between 2% and 4% international students. Some schools have as many as 7% or 8%, but those are not the norm. So if you look at it, each year, there are roughly only 3,000 international students that get into elite universities (top 6 or 7 State universities, top 20 LACs and top 20 private research universities). Even if only 30,000 international students applied to all thse schools, we are still talking to a very tiny percentage of successful applicants.

ctsurgery is not credible...

Shes paying full tuition, the competition will be less stringent... you will get into more schools than ctsurgery said

oh hey you're in taiwan...I'm half taiwanese!
