Hey everyone!
So I'm an upcoming freshman and i wanted to know what my chances are for getting into a good ivy or other top 20 college.
I am Indian ( i am simply stating this because i know this is taken into account for admissions )
I am going to attend a top 50 private school and it was even once rated as 9th best in the country.
I am a straight A student.
I play tennis and plan to play at my school's varsity team which is very competitive and is almost always in the top 5 of the state. I have been playing piano for 5 years ( so about 9 after high school )
I also plan to join clubs such as the debate club where my school is nationally recognized and other clubs as well.
Also since kindergarten i have been going to a very intense and very educational sunday school, for my religion hinduism, which is also a character building school.
With all of that i also plan to enter science olympiads and math olympiads. Now i know that is about average for an ivy applicant, but what i think will set me apart is that i am going to do a summer research project at UMDNJ for at least 2 years as i wish to pursue a career in the medical field.
So what do you think about my chances, and please be honest.
Thanks in advance!

YOU JUST FINISHED EIGHTH GRADE.

Come back in two years and we’ll talk.

I agree with Sally on this one, Sorry. You haven’t taken the SAT/ACT, SAT Subject Tests, AP courses and you don’t even have a solid UW/W GPA right now. In all honesty and seriousness, make a thread when you are Junior okay? But for now, keep on working hard and maybe I’ll chance you then. Okay. Good Luck, and enjoy high school, and don’t worry too much about colleges. :)
