Chances for an LAC?

Chance me for EARLY DECISION at Wesleyan?

Never thought I would do one of these, but I'm bored and don't have much work (seniors aren't supposed to have much work this week/next week)

I go to a very competitive private school on the East coast. It's fairly well known in the region, so I don't want to say the name.

No ranks, no official GPA, but I'd say I'm about a 3.6x. Closer to averaging an A- than a B+.

I've pretty much taken the hardest classes possible for all 4 years. Currently in US Govt, English seminars, AP Physics C, AP Bio, Calc BC, and orchestra.

ACT: 35
SATII: 780 Math2, 730 Chem, 740 Bio
APs: APUSH 5, US Lit 4, AP Physics B 4

Essays: Both were very good.
Teacher recs (Junior english and Junior physics) were great
Counselor rec was fantastic

Extracurriculars:
4 years of XC and captain senior year

3 years of track

Research internship at NIH this past summer, got a good recommendation from the head of the lab.

and headed a biology and neuroscience club at my school. We've gone to several biology conferences and presented our experiments. (this year only)

Head of our school's sports film society. I film, edit, and put up our school's sports games on youtube. Also use them for the end of the year sports montage. (2 years)

Editor and contributor to our school's version of the Onion (3 years)

Play oboe for the school orchestra (4 years)

JHU CTY for 4 years

Volunteered in New Orleans for one week over spring break my sophomore and junior years.

Assistant counselor and teacher at a summer camp for underprivileged urban youths summer after sophomore year.

I have no real hooks, except that my cousin just graduated from Wes.

Thanks all.

Very hard to say without knowing here you rank. I’m sure your school doesn’t officially rank, but Wes know what GPAs mean at every well know private school out there. I’d say they’ll want you to be top 25% minimum.

easily in the top 25%, especially when you take out those who cruise by in functions and conceptual physics their senior year…

le bump bump…
