I am trying to narrow down my college list and need some help...

I want to go into business (accounting w/ economics)...
Thank You!..

Um yeah… im sure you’ll get in great GPA and scores (try to bring up to 2100) do’t forget that GA-tech does the super-duper score thing.

Good Luck

Looks like you have a pretty good shot IMO. I’d definitely work on Math a little as you are 40 points below the 25% mark but that shouldn’t be too big of a deal/shouldn’t keep you from getting accepted.

If you’re applying for economics, then you have a very good chance. Engineering, it will be a little more difficult. However, why are applying for GTech for business? There are plenty of better universities for business than GTech that’ll cost cheaper or be closer to home. Just curious is all.

I personally think that you should apply to higher level schools. Rice, Washington U, Harvard, Duke, etc. that all have better business schools. Just my opinion, I don’t want to discourage though from applying to GTech. It’s still a good school.

The reason I ask for my chances to GT is because I lived in Gwinnett Co. and studied there for my freshman year. Thus, I was most likely going to apply to GT and use my HOPE Scholarship there.
I am still planning on applying (along with several other universities ) to the GT business school. My first choice school is UT - Austin (McCombs School of Business), but admission is much tougher there. After my first choice, any university is a possibility (including GT).

I wouldn’t call your SAT scores great. Your SAT Math score is very low for a Tech applicant (and we all know that they consider Math more than CR more than writing).

Your UWGPA is at the low end of competitive and even with all the AP’s, it’s below average (GT weighted of around 3.8, whereas the average accepted student last years was a 3.92).

Good class rigor and decent EC’s. I’d put you around 50/50.

My son had a 660 SAT math score and then scored a 2 on the AP Calc test. He did get into GT I think because he was out of state, and he had other attributes they were looking for. I am glad they are looking beyond just a test score. Otherwise he had great grades, leadership, etc.
