chances for an OOS engineering candidate

<p>Hi, i know it's really hard to get into the engineering school, and even harder as an out of stater, but give me a shot.</p>

<p>SAT: 2250 800 math, 760 writing, 690 reading</p>

<p>SAT IIs: 800 math II, 800 Physics, 720 bio, 680 chem, 580 world history (don't ask)</p>

<p>ACT: 34 composite</p>

<p>UC GPA: 4.3</p>

<p>ECs:
volunteering at a soup kitchen in the bronx
captain of the robotics team
tutoring
officer of saferides
art club
classes at columbia on saturdays
edit: and I work at Kohl's 20hrs per week</p>

<p>Engineering Physics is what I'm putting down, but I think i want to do a dual degree in Engineering Physics and Engineering Mathematics. Or at least try it out til it kills me.</p>

<p>What about for EECS? I just read a post about how strong engineering candidates should apply for that, just in case, but I don't know if I fit the bill.</p>

<p>if you're still undecided between engineering physics and EECS you could just apply for engineering undeclared. btw you have the stats for any engineering major, or any major for that matter</p>

<p>yeah, you're stats are good. i was oos engineering from ny too. I'm curious - how did you calculate uc gpa? on my app at the time I just put whatever gpa my school gave me (not out of 4.0)</p>
