I know standardized tests are a big factor and that I'm lacking in both community services and GPA, but how are my chances as an out-of-state applicant? haha, and I also acknowledge that cycling isn't a hyped sport in the US, more appealing to European countries.

Looking at UCD, UCLA, and UCB specifically. Thanks for helping me out!

honestly i think ur uw gpa is too low for an OOS

that’s what I’m worrying about. but UC looks at gpa according to the a-g scale, no?
how does my a-g stack up with theirs?

What’s your weighed GPA? It’s a little too soon to tell without your SAT scores but your UW GPA is already low for UCLA and it doesn’t look like you took many APs. I like your ECs but the UC system in general doesn’t place too much emphasis on them.

4.3. and i know! I attend the best high school in Wisconsin, and they pride themselves in not providing a gamut of AP’s, (we’re being sued right now for “not providing sufficient education for the gifted and talented”).By the end of my high-school, I’d have completed all their AP’s. However, I’ve been taking the hardest courses available to me like University Chinese and Honors courses.

They don’t really pride themselves in having a small amount of APs, do they? You will be looked upon favorably for taking all the AP classes at your school, since you are evaluated in the context of the opportunities you’ve been given. Is a 4.0 your weighted UC GPA? It is a bit low, you need to break 4.2-3 to be competitive. They might be more lenient towards OOS because of the tuition issues, but regardless a 4.0 is still iffy. Hopefully your SAT scores are strong and you write good essays. I recommend taking subject tests even though they’re not required, because they can only strengthen your application if you do well.

EDIT: Scratch most of that, I just read that your UC GPA is 4.3. You’re in good shape. It will definitely help to have strong SAT/SAT II scores, so make sure you acquire those.

they do. they believe that AP’s limit the amount of material the can teacher teach due to the timeframe and what’s on the AP test.
