chances for an oos??

I go to a very prestigious school in PA and my main choices are (as far as state colleges go)
Michigan
UNC
UCLA
UF
PSU
Washington
Maryland
Wisconsin

-I am Hispanic; first generation American; and go to a grade deflating hs in which i have received a 3.2-3.3/ 4.0
-I have played football and golf and am a member of the minority culture club.
-My SATs were 1920 but that should be highly improved by next year.
-I have taken a majority of my school's honors and ap courses and have done fairly well with them.
-I will have great teacher and counselor recommendations and have done well over 100 hours of community service throughout my HS time.
What are my odds at these schools?

If you go to a very prestigious high school, I’m assuming it’s a highly recognized preparatory school like Shipley School or Haverford, in which I know from the past students that your GPA is more like a 3.5-3.6 GPA. As far as schools go, I believe that some of the ones you listed are still huge reaches with that GPA and your SAT score.

Michigan- Slight Reach
UNC- HUGE reach
UCLA- HUGE reach
UF- Reach
PSU- Match
Washington-Match
Maryland-Match
Wisconsin-Reach

what do you think i could do to better my chances at UF and Michigan, theyre by far my two favorite schools

We’ll I have one last question, do you happen to know the average GPA and SAT score for your graduating class? That will give me an idea of how you compare to the average student, because both UF and Michigan are very competitive schools that tend to take students with an A-/A average and 1350+ SAT/ 30+. To improve your chances, I’d recommend taking a hard course load for your senior year, but one that you can manage and display your best performance, strive for like a 3.75+ GPA UW for senior year. Your leadership and job experience is lacking as well, so maybe try running for a position in one of the clubs you are involved with at your school or for Student Government. I hope this helps. If you want further advice, you can send a private message to me. I have plenty of friends at both UF and Michigan and I know what type of credentials you need for both of these schools, both as an instate and out of state applicant.
