chances for an OOSer =D

Entertaining argument.

Good chances, the only drawback is that you're OOS.

ignore, ignore =)

Ignore being OOS? Then you're a match easily.

loll ol no. i mean the argument =)

You don't need recs for the UCs.

Just because she didn't know that doesn't mean you should attack her.

She's obviously not an idiot. Do we have a situation of the pot calling the kettle black, here?

I think this is the first time I've seen someone use "I'm obviously smarter." as part of a serious argument.

haha. ughh i sound mean >.<

Yes, this thread got a little out of hand pretty fast.

Out of curiosity, what are your reasons for applying to Berkeley? What's your interest in an OOS public that's clear across the country? (This is genuine curiosity; I often ask OOS applicants why they're applying.)

i wanted to go to a school with a good undergrad business program, so that's like michigan, wharton, mit, and berkeley

^ Realize that if you apply to Berkeley as a freshman, and your intended major is business, you have to apply as "Undecided - Pre-Business". Berkeley's Haas School of Business only admits students at the junior level. Applicants need to complete all the prerequisites and submit an additional application during their sophomore year. Admission to Haas is very competitive.

Undergraduate Program - Admissions - Haas School of Business

You are a very strong student. Good luck!

wow, but if I don't get in, what else can I do? i can't like switch my major/what I wanted to major in..

^ Most end up majoring in something else, like Econ, if they don't get into Haas.

ohh okay =)

As an added note, Berkeley's econ is also a top-10 department.

I'm not sure what srabiee is so bitter about, but she needs to chill out. I'm surprised those posts haven't been deleted yet.

btw, someone's style of typing doesn't indicate his/her lack of intelligence whatsoever. Just the fact that you think so makes you sound stupider than the topic creator.

WOW. Srabie is clearly in the wrong here.... Maybe they had a bad day, but way to drive away a good applicant.

agreed. narcissa, plese DO realize that the vast majority of students at Cal are helpful and want to add to the betterness of the school (like kyledavid). This means encouraging excellent applicants like yourself to apply. As a fellow applicant, I welcome you to the pool LOL.

I think you have great chances, but again, OOS admissions, and Cal admissions in general, are a crapshoot. Best of luck!

thanks! i do want to go into business (of some sort, don't know yet) and obviously UCLA has a good undergrad business school

...you do realize you're on the Berkeley thread...that's the one way people won't welcome you to the pool. Is if you confuse Cal with either:

A)UCLA
B)USC
C)Stanfurd

^^ lol

By the way, Narcissa, UCLA does not have undergrad biz. Berkeley does.
