About the essay....I don't know if it's enough to get me past the "first round", but i'm hoping it'll at least do something!

Well, by now u should have heard. I sent my application online on Jan 15th. I got my acceptance notice online a week ago. I do not know why urs might be taking so long. I would guess u have a good shot because ur Ec's are amazing. and Ur gpa is up to par. SO ur SAT scores are not all that good but big deal. I had lower gpa and SAT but had amazing Ec's, amazing essay and 4 letters of reference including one from owner of school so it all gave into the package. If ur international student, u have a higher chance of getting in cuz its easier. the office of int. admissions is separate from admissions office and from what I have heard, their applicant pool is not as selective as the overly selective domestic applicant pool. I got in as international student.

I would say u have a 60% chance of getting in. What worries me is why they have taken so long.

acarta07, are you Floridian?

I think those applicants from Florida find out before the rest. If not, maybe they mail out acceptances early and rejections later? Not sure.

Anyway, the EC's are pretty good, the rest is average. You got a 50/50 I think.

Armando Yes im a Floridian from Tampa. However I did high school in El Salvador and Dominican Republic so i was evaluated in the international student pool. I got acceptance relatively quick. But again international office of admissions runs somewhat differently than domestic admissions office.

The decisions get mailed out in batches every few days in no particular order. The wait shouldn't be too much longer. Good luck.
