colleges (I’ll be applying to the business schools if they have separate applications):
upenn (Wharton)-ED
Berkeley
MIT
Carnegie Mellon
university of Michigan ann arbor
notre dame
boston college
boston university
university of Maryland college park
penn state
Michigan state
university of Pittsburgh

also, if you could offer help in pruning this list, I’d appreciate it—I’m reluctant to take any places off

I know I’m pretty all over the place and haven’t really done anything lasting in high school, and my grades aren’t really up to par with many of those colleges. I’m hoping to accomplish something now that I’m being homeschooled. There’s something else I might mention on my applications or have my guidance counselor mention, but I don’t want to say it here so PM me if you’d like to know and offer me advice.

Thanks in advance!

Your rank is a 'killer'.

Upenn (Wharton)-ED: REJECT
Berkeley: Out of state, REJECT
MIT: REJECT
Carnegie Mellon: Maybe/ Likely
university of Michigan ann arbor: Unlikely/ REJECT
notre dame: In
boston college: In
boston university: In
university of Maryland college park: In
penn state: Likely/ In
Michigan state: Likely
university of Pittsburgh: Maybe

I suggest taking UC Berkeley off; out of-state, it's too tough and you are not a very strong applicant.

Do you like all those other public schools? I suggest removing a couple.

Theres no way he's in at BC and only "likely" at Michigan State. Look up BC Carroll's stats. It's a match/slight reach, not a safety.

Thanks for the advice! Anyone else with suggestions?

ND and BC as in, maybe at Pitt??? ***?

Having a cousin who got rejected with top 5%, 30 ACT, and pretty solid EC's get rejected from BC makes me think that'll be tough.

I'd put Wharton, UCB, and MIT as heavy reaches.
Michigan, ND, BC, CMU reaches, but not crazy.
The rest - should be in.

Thanks DSC! The only one I was really sure about getting into was university of md, since it feels like half my school goes there each year, but now I can look forward to michigan or pitt maybe too!
