I'm currently a 7th grader and I concerned about my chances for Andover/Exeter/Deerfield because of my grade.
Honors Algebra2(70% of the people flunked out of this class)
1st semester: D+ 2nd semester: F (I have to retake this class next year)
Language Art and Social Study
1st trimester: C+ 2nd trimester: B+ 3rd trimester: A
Science
1st trimester: A 2nd trimester: B 3rd trimester: A
Spanish
1st trimester: A 2nd trimester: B 3rd trimester: A
Orchestra
1st trimester: A 2nd trimester: A 3rd trimester: A
I know that I have low grades, but I have a lot of EC like I play violin, bass and for sports
I play lacrosse, rugby, tennis, golf and I'm in swim team too.
And this year I took Isee, ssat, sat and I got:
ssat lower level:
overall average score: 93
Isee middle level:
overall average score: 96
Sat
writing:600 critical reading:650 math:750
And I went to Johnshopkins summer camp for 2 years and Math path, but
my grades on 6th and 7th are bad.
My 6th grade, I got almost all c's, so I'm worrying that I might not
get in to Andover or Deerfield.

You probably won’t get in unless you develop some sort of extraordinary hook, don’t need FA, and do community service. Oh, and win a bunch of awards.

I think you have a chance if you get your math grades up. your SAT scores for a 7th grader are great. Are you a SET member?

I’m not a set member because I didn’t take the johnshopkins sat test.
Set u have to get 2100 on sat.

I stayed in U.S. for 3 years but still do I have to toefl?
And is it better to take lower class and get A or take higher class and get
D?

It’s never good to get a “D”

Ds are never good… So lower class and an A!

By the way, your SAT math score is really impressive for a 7th grader!

Is it good to get a recommendation from my pre-calculus teacher?

Which way is the most affective write a personal essay?

Is it helpful to put SET on a BS application?

I honestly don’t think you stand a chance. No offense. You have to trust me on this because I am highly involved with admissions to prep schools.

You never know about the chance, because I’m gonna change my Math grades!

I think what counts is that you’ve improved most of your grades so much, even if you did flunk out of an extremely difficult course. The Johns Hopkins summer thing will look really good. You do a lot of sports which is also good. Did you mean the SSAT? Because the sat is for college admissions.

I took actual sat and ssat.

I think you have to take the upper level SSAT for all of those schools.

Not to be a debby downer, but you’re going to really have to bring those grades way up. Keep in mind that you should try to have stellar essays, SSAT scores, and interview if you really want to get into these schools. I’m positive you have a shot. Good luck!
