Chances for Andover/Exeter/Deerfield??

Hi guys! I'm new here and I know that you've probably seen this a hundred times before, but I want to know my chances of getting into Exeter, Andover, or Deerfield. So I'm just going to cover everything here, be as harsh as you want to be!! (I'm entering eighth grade this year and Andover is my dream.)

Grades: Mostly A's, maybe two B's during seventh grade. I have never gotten 'bad' grades, but once in sixth grade I got a C based on a lopsided online grading system. This was when I went to public school in a small town. Now, for seventh and eighth grade, I go to (a different school in a different, larger city.) I was wondering if that would factor into the decision.

ISEE/SSAT: I do pretty OK in these, the last time I took this was when I was in sixth grade. I had to take the 7/8th grade test while going in to seventh grade, so please don't judge based on these scores! Not to mention 6th grade was my off year. Also, I did these with about five days of studying.

Reading Comprehension: 99th percentile
Math:99th percentile
Quantitative Reasoning:89th percentile
Vocab: 87th percentile

Extracurriculars:
This is a tough one. I do so many extracurriculars but I'm not stellar or even extraordinary at any of them. I've struggled in the instruments I've played and don't even start about sports.... I'm still pretty lousy at them except for volleyball and tennis.

Tennis
Volleyball
Rowing
Cello
Piano
Saxophone
Math Club
Debate

Awards:
OK. (Just wondering, do you have to write WHEN you got these awards?)
2nd place regional math
9th place regional math
9th place state math
10th place state math
Schoolwide 1st place photography award
And I'm also doing the spelling bee this year. I've always been great at spelling. In my old school I doubled the number of perfect spelling test scores. I'm also aiming for the GeoBee.

Essays: They've been my strongest point. I LOVE ESSAYS!! And for Andover, you have to have a graded essay, which will be awesome. (:

Recommendations: I could get really good recommendations from teachers.

Interview: I did well in my last interview. I have a strong personality, and I really like to express my views by talking to adults and striking a conversation .

Thanks! That's it, I would really appreciate some answers!

Oh, and in case it matters,I'm Indian-American, go to India and volunteer, and have also volunteered for a Food Bank (But it was for school...)

Also, my hobbies include photography, script-writing, and I’m AMAZING at making short films and videos and extremely skilled on the computer.

Ugh, I forgot to mention I’m in Math 7a (honors math) at my current school, and that’s why I got a B. I also heard they look at your grades for the past 3 years??? I’m so scared!!

Please - quickly - go back to your first post and hit “edit.”
Take out the info about where you live and go to school.
You have about 15 minutes from the time you post to edit an entry.

Why would you change schools agin after only 2 years? Schools will wonder

Okay seriously, you seem to be all over the place. Boarding schools are going to DOUBT you because you do literally everything. I see posts like this ALL the time, people who have the same grades/SSAT scores/blah blah blah.

Boarding schools are going to see that you have many extracurriculars and will begin to think that you are doing it only so that you can get admitted.

Think about why you do these things. WHY? Why do you volunteer? Why do you do these following things:
Tennis
Volleyball
Rowing
Cello
Piano
Saxophone
Math Club
Debate

It seriously seems like too much. Really, if you focus on one thing, and delve deeply into it, boarding schools are going to like that more than if you do SO many things but you aren’t passionate about them.

-an Exeter senior (yeeee '2013)

sulzbachbaby,

Your an exeter senior. Wow! I was just wondering what do you think really go you in? Your hook? And would you chance me?

Sure StarJazzy I can chance you! And what got me in? My experiences living abroad for one year, what I learned from it, and my musical background. And also maybe my all-A status. I didn’t even do much for extracurriculars - I stuck to one thing and was passionate about it - didn’t do much sports or anything really.

You are a very good student! I got in with about the same grades and things as you (actually a bit better but still). Be more specific about which math contest you took. And saying math 7a really narrows things down. How did you get a B? I don’t think it will hurt your chances that much though.
