Hey, I'm Chuck, and I'm new to College Confidential. I was just wondering what my chances are for the top prep schools I am considering.

-30 hours of community service this summer

I would love your feedback on my chances at these great schools. Thanks a lot guys. Oh and by the way Andover is my top choice.

Dude! I’m no expert or ANYTHING, but I think you’ve got quite a good chance! Seriously. Only thing I think that could go wrong is that you need significant financial aid… May be a problem.

@chaz405 I also think you sound like you have a great chance at any of those schools. Plus you’re from Texas and not the NE. But I have to ask, if you need significant FA and you are already really bright and accomplished etc in a top school, why why why are you applying as a repeat Freshman? It seems like a waste of money and time especially if it just leads to an extra year of debt. I know this is a HOTLY debated topic and some people have legit reasons but from an academic and financial standpoint, plus it doesn’t sound like you are physically tiny…what drove that decision?

I feel like you are a good candidate, and certainly would do fine, but I would still apply to a school that would be easier to get into because it’s just so competitive. You never know what may happen.
