Chances for applying ED to Columbia College?

<p>Stats:
GPA (weighted) 4.05
Class rank is dismal. 36/678. really competitive school
8 APs so far
-5 on US History
-5 on World History
-5 on Lang/Comp
-4 on Enviro Science
Currently taking Psych, Lit/Comp, Gov, and Stats
SAT 1: 740 CR / 640 M / 730 W
all in one sitting, 2nd time taking
(Math has never been my strong suit, but I consider this a MAJOR improvement from my 530 M score the previous year)
Two subject tests: US History: 720, and just took Literature</p>

<p>Extracurricular/Awards:
- (not an extracurricular but should be noted) 3 years in my specialty school's arts magnet program, intensive concentration in Creative Writing- classes have been Exploration, Short Story I, Nonfiction I, Writing for Art, Popular Fiction, Script I, and Short Story II
- 2 years in Student Activities Leadership Council, Historian. huge emphasis on service. mentor grade school kids, volunteer at homeless shelters, etc. 60 hrs/year. there's an application process and everything
- 1 year in Student Government, Secretary
- 1 year on my high school's Academic Team
- 4 years of my church's youth group, President
- Attended the Virginia Governor's School for the Humanities at Radford University (selective one month program)
- 2 years of NHS
- 2 years in my school's "AP Scholars Program" on the Advisory Committee- I help tutor underclassmen taking AP classes and struggling to maintain their course load
- intern at Democratic Committee's campaign office for a local man running for delegate against a Tea Party incumbent. 15 hours/week for 5 weeks. intense work. (I was advised to mention things like this in my application because Columbia tends to lead towards liberal?)

-Common App essay is the best essay I've ever written. polished numerous times, very personal. outlines how I've overcome my dad's brain cancer and have dealt with everything thrown my way. spent so much time on the hook line
-supps are good. I take a stance and make it known who I am</p>

<p>Recs:
- both teachers love me to death. My English teacher's children all went to ivies so she knows how to write the best recommendation ever. My Math teacher explained how I overcame my difficulty in math</p>

<p>it’s really hard to say, your ECs are good and presumably so are your essays. Stats seem a little weak but not that bad. I think it really depends on how your essays are and who else is applying ED to Columbia at your school.</p>

<p>Only one other girl, but her stats are worse than mine and she has very little ECs</p>

<p>You’re a competitive applicant for sure. There is no way to chance anyone for a good school like Columbia, but I think if your essays and recs are good enough you’ll have a good shot. Best of luck.</p>
