Chances for ba/md programs :/

I am going to be a senior this fall and colleges are coming right up. This is my first post on CC and since I have a strong passion for the sciences and could not dream of doing anything with my life other than being a doctor, I decided it would be in the accelerated program forum. I would extremely appreciate any feedback on my chances on getting into programs such as:
-Union
-Temple
-Drexel
-Sophie Davis
-Brooklyn College
-or any other program you feel could fit me

Again, thanks a lot and I'll be anxiously waiting some feedback... :)

I forgot about rpi. I hope I have a decent shot

First, are you a NYS resident? If you are, then I would say that you might have a chance at Sophie, Brooklyn, rpi... but the admission to these schools is usually based on so many things its hard to predict. I would say you are in the running for getting in but no guarantees.

yup, im a nys resident all the way. I hope those other things help me rather than hurt me. Thanx for the feedback venator

you can't apply to sophie or brooklyn unless your a nys resident. For rpi, it probably doesn't matter too much.

hmm, i can give you info on rpi, union, temple- i got into those programs. I'd say work on lifting up your reading score, bc most programs look at your math-verbal combo, which really should be atleast 1400 to be competitive. I'd say if you lifted up your reading score, you would have an amazing shot, bc your ecs are great.

this is an interesting post, I fell like I'm in a similar boat. Hey Kanner Im also a NY Resident, what High School do you go to?

thanx, where did you end up going jenc89?

I go to stuyvesant hs, and yourself?

guilderland

Kanner, I have a friend that was accepted to NYU, Sophie Davis Biomed, and Union's BA/MD program. She just graduated from Stuyvesant and now she's going to Union. Her profile was much the same as yours is now.

She said that your combined Math/Reading scores on the SAT are extremely important (I think Penn State looks for 1450+) but that you should be well-prepared for the interview. She believes that counted in her favor the most. She also advises for people whose applications "graze the borderline," you should choose a totally unrelated major because there's a higher possibility they will accept you. So major in women's studies or religious history, at least for the first year, before switching to popular ones like chemistry or biology.

And take another Math/Science and a Humanities SAT Subject Tests.

hey kanner who are you i go to stuyvesant too and im gonna be a senior

i'm scott k.

hey stuy people. i go bx science. is ur gpa int he top 10%?

i dunno, we don't rank
