This year I'll take English comp, and I'll probably get a 5, but I suppose that doesn't matter (do colleges consider AP tests as part of admission?)

Should I take the ACT in December if I'm applying for January admission? I.e. will schools accept scores even after my application is submitted? (ACT website says 3-8 weeks for scores)
