Chances for Bard, NYU, Lang...buncha other liberal arts schools

<p>I sort of hate myself for doing this, but nonetheless...</p>

<p>Schools:
Bard
Vassar
NYU
Middlebury
Amherst
Eugene Lang
Bennington
Hofstra
URI/UVM
Bowdoin/Bates</p>

<p>As you can see, I'm having some trouble deciding</p>

<p>Grades
Unweighted GPA- 3.5
Weighted GPA- 3.66
Rank - Top 25%; not top 10% (2nd ranked public high school in the state - does ranking matter?)</p>

<p>Tests
SAT- 2100
CR- 800
Math- 580
W- 720
essay-11</p>

<p>*SAT II *
US History: 750
Literature: 800</p>

<p>AP
English Lit- 5
U.S. History- 5
This year I'll take English comp, and I'll probably get a 5, but I suppose that doesn't matter (do colleges consider AP tests as part of admission?)</p>

<p>Should I take the ACT in December if I'm applying for January admission? I.e. will schools accept scores even after my application is submitted? (ACT website says 3-8 weeks for scores)</p>

<p>AP/Hnrs classes I am taking this year:
AP English
Honors International Relations</p>

<p>EC
-Students for Social Justice - Vice President(10,11,12)
-After School Orchestra (10,11)
-Project Venue (a music organization for youth in my home town; I put a lot of time into this, and may be writing my essay on it.) (10,11,12)
I did sound for a play/pageant my school put on
Employed at the local library - 7-15 hours/wk since sophomore year (10,11,12)</p>

<p>I also won the battle of the bands at my school (and my friends' school, but I'm not really sure if that should go on the app hahaha)</p>

<p>I don't know my major, but it'll probably be something useless in the liberal arts (that always gets me depressed.)</p>

<p>I'll chance back, though I'm no expert.</p>

<p>UVM is a safety. Bard and NYU are targets. Vassar, Middlebury, Amherst, and Bowdoin are all reaches. I have no idea what the other schools are (sorry :P).</p>

<p>Yeah, schools with Jan. deadlines will be able to receive December ACT scores. They don’t give out decisions until April.</p>
