Hi all, just wondering how competitive I am for Carroll.

I’m an Asian male from NJ and I really liked BC when I visited a couple months ago. I really liked how the school had a campus, but was still so close to Boston.

SAT I: 2210 (1470 CR/M)
SATII: Math II - 790, Literature - Taking in Oct, expecting 750+

AP Scores:
Calc AB (5)
Lang/Comp (4)
Macroecnomics (5)

Courseload
Started off pretty mediocre, only 1 honors class freshman year. However, by junior year I was taking “most difficult” courseload with 3 APs and a couple honors.

Senior Schedule
AP Calc BC
AP Lit/Comp
AP Physics B
AP Gov/Pol
AP Microeconomics
Latin 2 Honors

Biggest problem is my cumulative GPA but I did pretty much everything I could junior year to bring it up. Although rank isn’t reported by our school, i’m pretty sure i’m right outside the top 10%. Our school is a pretty competitive public in central NJ.

whats a “core gpa” ?? post your real gpa with electives if you didnt take them pass/fail. you’ve admitted to having a very weak schedule freshman year(and doing poorly?) BC seems like a large reach with a 3.5 gpa, not a very strong schedule, and a top 10% with that gpa is very surprising.

it’s a 3.68 or so with electives, i said i was outside the top 10%. our school has weighting and my uw gpa is significantly higher, which explains why my rank is higher than my UW gpa shows. my schedule freshman year wasn’t “most difficult”. it’s been “most difficult” for the other 3 years.

Dear NJsterling : While your SAT I/SAT II/AP scores are outstanding, there is not enough here to make an appropriate evaluation. Clubs, volunteerism, sports teams, music, art, other interests/passions, and work experiences are all missing to allow an appropriate complete view. If you are planning to stand on just the test scores, you might wind up very disappointed.

Ah no that wasn’t my intention.
