Chances for Berkeley, John Hopkins and a few other? WILL CHANCE BACK ASAP.

I am freshmen in College (Community College). I want to transfer to a 4-year University for next year. I graduated HS at the end of junior year. The reason I am in a CC and the reason I graduated HS early, is because I REALLY messed up my GPA in 10th grade (because of stupid decisions and some family issues) but I still wanted to go to a good University, so I went to CC first so they would not care about my HS grades.

Academics

9th Grade
-GPA: 3.6
-All honor classes no AP
-Did football, no other extras

10th Grade
- GPA: 2.6 (THIS IS WHERE I MESS UP)
- AP Government (The rest Honors)
- 4 on AP exam
- Programmer for Engineering Club

11th Grade
- GPA: 3.9
- AP Lang, AP World, AP Programming (The rest Honors)
- 5 on AP exam for Programming and World, 4 on AP exam for Lang
- Head of Programmer of Engineering Club
- Got the Cisco COMPTIA A+ Certificate
- Got a 2030 on SAT.

Freshmen Community College
- GPA: 4.0 (So far and staying this way)
- Part of Phi Theta Kappa (Honors Society)
- Worked as an intern at NIST with government engineers/programmers
- Programmer for Programming club
- Have created an Android Application
- Going to get another Cisco Certificate in the Spring

Other
- I am white, from a middle class family.
- I went to regular public school in Maryland (In one of the best Counties in the US)
- I go to one of the best Community Colleges in my state (Which does not mean much)
- I did about 100 hours of public service.

These are the Universities I want to know my chances for. I know I really screwed up sophomore year and I take full responsibility for my grades but I AM REALLY eager to learn at a good university. In my opinion my chances are pretty low for some of these but I hope I am wrong. Any advice you might have would be great and thanks a lot for the help.

To be honest, i’m not sure how CC grades affect the admissions process. But you seem to be doing well there. Your SAT however, is a little low for some of these schools.

Chance me back?

I think all of these schools are matches except maybe Johns Hopkins

You’ll easily get into Ann Arbor and San Diego. As for the others, if you make your application and essays awesome you have a good chance!

Chance mine? :)

@kickcheese why do people say ann arbor and San Diego are easy? They are ranked pretty high compared to a school like UMD College Park

Your internship looks good on an application. It doesn’t seem like you did much other than that, though, so good luck.

@jotiko - I agree, especially because I know they take a lot of in-state, and he’s OOS for both. I don’t think he’ll get “easily in” but he has a chance.
