OH YEAH, I'm not really sure what to feel about this because I think my rank needs to be a little higher so I'll proly work hard on that, but is there anything in specific other than that that I should be doing to get into my dream program (the Huntsman Program at UPenn).

maybe i should have thought of a catchier heading

you should be fine, what were your SAT's

One question - are you Indian?

The Penn rep that came to my school said that they prefer you not speak your "native" or "cultural" language (am I thinking of the right Huntsman?). Or are you applying through Latin?

I think you're good to go for Rice and GTown, but I'd say admission to Stanford depends on significance (and how you present them) of the internship and the research you've done in foreign countries. You've got the solid stats to qualify you as a consideration, but your ECs and essays will decide whether you're over the fence.

rdh1991, my SAT was 2220 all together, 1460 with just math and reading

jenkster, yes sadly I'm Indian. Dang I didn't realize that would be a thing. It's not the language I grew up speaking, I took formal classes. Maybe there would be a way for me to make that clear in my application or something?

I didn't realize I had the stats to qualify (specifically my rank); that's heartening. So the focus should be on my EC's from this point on?

anybody else have anything to say?

bummmmpp :)

anyone else have anything to add>>

I would check with admissions at the school and see how they judge the IB diploma program and the AP program.

I was talking to someone at Northwestern Admissions who told me that they consider both programs as having the same level of difficulty (despite the fact that we do EE's, IA's, World Lit's, need extra credits/CAS hours just to graduate)

Wharton, let alone Huntsman, will be hard with your rank and SAT. Wharton especially wants to see strong math, with average there being 760.

That said, if you have an interesting language- say arabic, your chances go way up. Try to use your native language and your chances go way down.

For Huntsman raise your scores and do some interesting research with a global thesis.

grugmug: gtown, Texas and rice should be a match. Stanford is a low reach. Huntsman is hard for everyone.

Stanford is a low reach? What???????????????????????????????????
