Chances for Boston College

<p>Catholic high school in suburban Chicago. (currently a junior) looking to study nursing.</p>

<p>GPA over 5 semesters: 99%
1st semester of junior year (self-calculated): 4.2, 2nd semester projected: 4.2</p>

<p>ACT: 31</p>

<p>ECs: 70 hours of hospital volunteer work, looking to do more, will have 50 additional hours or so for a school requirement (50 of the hospital hours were used to fulfill our 100 hour service requirement), also looking for a part-time job related to medicine, Italian club (running for president next year), science club, Park district softball since I was six til age 15 (can't do it this year because of severe knee injuries that resulted in surgery a month ago, which also caused me to lose my volunteer spot at the hospital), NHS, Italian NHS, free-lance Italian tutoring</p>

<p>Awards: published poet, NHS and INHS, Principal's Honor Roll (99%+) for 3 semesters, hopefully will get an Italian award soon...</p>

<p>APs: English Language, Bio, Calc AB, English Literature (Collegeboard cut AP Italian)
Everything else has been honors except for history (my worst subject) and our required religion courses, which I have high A's in. And foreign language which I have 100%.</p>

<p>You have pretty good stats so I would say that you have about a 50% chance of admission. If you can apply ED I would recommend it as it would give you a substantial bump in the admissions process. Your ECs are pretty boring, so spice your app up with some good essays. Also, double check their website and make sure that if they require you to take high school chemistry that you do so next year.</p>

<p>Thank you. I will be applying ED since BC is my first choice. I have taken chemistry already so I am set for that.</p>

<p>I know my ECs are pretty boring, but my school is pretty limited in activities that I’m interested unfortunately, and I have never been a sports person. So hopefully my medical ECs will show my interest in the field.</p>
