in the fall i will be volunteering at the hospital, since this is the career I want to pursue

oh! and almost forgot...currently I'm in the 7 week pre-college program at Brown, and I'm taking Calculus 1 and critical reading/writing 1: the academic essay. these are credit courses.

i've also had experience at Shenandoah University conservatory where I've been going for 4 years now at a music camp.

--

So I want to get into:
Brown (PLME <-med school 7 year track)
Northwestern
University of Maryland (college park)
Oberlin
Gettysburg
Dickinson
Emory
Johns Hopkins

--

chances? Brown is my NUMBER ONE. I LOVE this school. I've met wonderful people here, the professors are friendly, and it's definitely the environment for me. i hope they accept me.

Are getting private lessons considered an EC?

You're ECs are really weak for Ivy League imo =/

get your SAT I scores to 2250 + and your SAT II scores to 780+.
write excellent essays/get good recs from your teacher
then you're in brown.

also.. you should spend this summer doing volunteer work somewhere, would be a great way to increase your chances since your EC's are a little slim.

I'm at Brown all summer. I can't do volunteer work.

Yes private lessons are EC. I do it outside of school, right? I can't drive yet, so my ECs are all dependent on what my parents feel like taking me to. They're like, "you need to study more, blah blah blah" It's not MY FAULT. Oh I forgot!! I did freshman volleyball, and two years of JV crosscountry.

Your scores are too low for ivies, your music-related ec is decent but you don't stand out.

You could do it on weekends. Volunteering 2 Hours every Saturday for the remainder of the year would definitely help a lot.

i agree that you defiitely need to raise your scores. however, i do think your music related activities are impressive and show passion/commitment. keep in mind that starting a new community service project right before applications will make it look like your just trying to pad your resume, so don't expect it to do much.
