I am an International (from India! eek!) though I've lived int he US on and off since the 3rd grade
I have good SATs (2350, 770.760,760,740) a good GPA (3.9 UW)
decent, not extraordinary ECs
Ive done theatre all four years, have gotten some awards, Im treasurer of Drama Club, Ive been dancing/performing all through High school (Indian classical dance), I was selected to be one of 54 national finals in India for this competition called Horlicks Wiz Kid, and Ive done a service project in which I ran a campaign to make public buildings in my city in India accessible to the physically disabled and voluteered in a school in a nearby slum.
I have really good essays, and good recs.

AND

I AM NOT APPLYING FOR AID!

Does anyone know the % addmittance rates for internationals in schools such as Brown, Duke, UChicago, Northwestern, Tufts?

And also, what are my chances in such schools, considering my circumstances?

thanks for the chance!
i think with ur impressive test scores and challenging cirriculum even brown wont be too much of a reach the rest are definatley matches and yes i think NYU would be a safety! good luck!

You have killer SATs, I honestly think you have a great chance for all of them. However you can’t cut slack on the essays cuz looking around in these forums there are people with 2400 SATs getting rejected from Princeton and schools like that because they either have crap essays or they only know how to study and have no ECs. You’re fine for ECs so make sure you ace those essays, goodluck for your apps and thx for chancing me earlier :)

HEY!
Thanks for the chance, I really appreciate it!
Brown, Duke, UChicago, Northwestern, Tufts
The admittance rates are as follows: 14%, 22%, 28%, 26%, and 26 percent, respectively.

I’d say you can count on all of them except Brown, though academically I’m sure you can impress them. Plus, even though you don’t have a lot of ECs, showing your dedication with a couple, is way better…unlike me…

Anyways, I’m a biggie on essays, so if you do well on that, I hope you can sleep easy! And the prompts for Tufts…makes me happy.

Anyways, Good Luck to you, Happy Holidays, and Have A Great & Academically Rewarding New Year!

aww thanks castadiva!
I know those are the normal admit rates for those Unis but they unfortunately have a lower admit rate for International students!

Oh and the Tufts supplemental essays were amazing! :D

Thanks for the chancee. It made me want to cry less. =p

Your SAT’s seem really good and like castadiva said, your EC’s seem little, but they look like they took alot of dedication.

I think you’ll most likely get in or at least have a very high chance at everywhere except Brown (but Im sure you can get in if you can tie your essays to the important things you’ve done in your EC) Plus, you’re not applying for financial aid, something they’ll definitely like.

I actually mentioned only my most important ECs… I have others such as Student council (vice head girl 9th, head girl 10th) and also Quiz bowl team (9th, 10thcaptain)
and Ive been playing piano forever

oh and I guess my main point in my application is how Ive tried to give back to the place I come form, India, and my common app essay is about that too, so I guess that’s good…
