chances for Brown, UVA, Georgetown, etc? also safety school recommendations?

Hi -

I just finished my junior year in high school. I am starting to look at schools I want to apply to but it’s very confusing and stressful, so I had a few questions. I am a male living in Virginia going to a competitive high school in the extremely competititve Fairfax County. Currently, my choices are:

Brown, UPenn, Pomona (Reach)
UNC Chapel Hill, Georgetown, UVA, Boston University (Slight Reach/Match?)
Purdue, IU (Safety)

Intended Major: Pre-Med route
Class Rank: our school doesn’t have class ranks
UW GPA: 3.85 (this doesn’t include any senior grades)
Weighted GPA: 4.3
Courses: 9th (4 honors, A’s and A-'s) 10th: (3 Honors and 2 AP’s, All A’s, 1 B+ in Honors English),
11th : (3 AP’s, 2 Honors, All A’s, 1 B+ in Honors Precalc ) 12th: (5 AP’s )
AP classes:
10th:
AP World History(3)
AP Comp Sci (cancelled score lol)
11th:
AP Micro
AP Macro
AP Chemistry
AP US History
12th:
AP Statistics
AP Physics C
AP Gov
AP Calc BC
AP Lit

Right now, I have a 32 on the ACT. I plan to take both the ACT and SAT again in the fall of my senior year, with high hopes of improving.
SAT Subject Test: US History: 730, I took Chem but didn’t do well, I still don’t know my Math two score.
EC’s/Awards:
Activities officer of Model UN with various awards
President of Debate Club
Chamber Orchestra Leader, played in district orchestra
Captain of Tennis Team(many awards)
Volunteer at INOVA Hospital working at Medical Library
Member of National Honor Society, and Math Honor Society
Summer Program at Johns Hopkins, studying psychology and law - summer between 9th and 10th
*Unique Internship at a telecommunications company called L3 communications. I worked with a team of adults to code and create a way to display the grants provided by the HHS to various organizations. A very cool experience and paid well. Only high school intern.
Researched throughout my 10th grade year at Northern Virginia Community College with microbiology professor researching a certain bacteria. Did science fair project with this, and got 1st place in Fairfax County Regional Fair, and Participated in Virginia State Science Fair. Won monetary award from American Microbiology Association.
This Summer I am working at Howard Universty with a professor in Chemistry researching nanotechnology. If all goes well, I should have a paper by the end of the Summer and it should be able to qualify for the Siemens Competition (fingers crossed).

Are the colleges listed above reasonable? Also, what other safety schools would you recommend? I chose IU and Purdue because we will technically be residents of both Virginia and Indiana by the end of my Senior year. Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

Your ECs are great. If you can increase your ACT to a 34 you have a good shot.

All your reaches have a 32 for average ACT score, so you won’t not be admitted because of that (if you get what I’m saying). As your ECs are good, I think you’ll have a pretty good chance of you write good essays.

Great chance for all truthfully. John Hopkins I would look into as top. RPI as well

Thanks for responses - do you think a B+ in honors precalc affects my chances for a lot of these schools? I know people have told me junior year math is probably one of the most important classes you take, so would that make a big difference?

I’m probably going to be majoring in a non biological science. I am thinking about either economics or business. Would that make a difference?
