<p>The effect of your GPA is hard to tell for someone who doesn’t know how many kids from your school typically get into Ivies/etc, but it’s probably not a huge problem for most colleges unless it’s lowered by multiple B-range grades. You might want to get your math score above 700 or whatever the equivalent is on the ACT – a 1430 is a bit low. But overall I think you have a decent shot, and if you’re a good writer that should help you with UChicago, especially if you portray yourself as a fun intellectual.</p>
