Only apply ED to BMC if you are COMPLETELY CERTAIN want to go and don’t need financial aid. You are overqualified for BMC, esp ED… You’d definitely get in BMC for RD, plus you’d get more aid so consider applying RD! You could use your ED, if you want to apply ED at all, to one of your target-reaches or reaches. Also, if you are only applying to BMC no need to take the ACT again.

You could aim higher if you would like, because as of now you have a very strong resume under your belt, fantastic grades, and tons of ECs… and you have no true reach colleges. Not sure what you want to study but consider looking at Georgetown, Cornell, & Penn for your EDs, all of which are real reaches but worth a shot.
Based on the colleges you are looking at, I also recommend taking a look at Amherst (Reach), Wellesley (Target-Reach), Smith (Target), Mount Holyoke (Safety), Bucknell (Target), and Conn College (Target-Reach). Good luck!

@shielapathukare Thank you so much for replying and organizing my college list!! It is much appreciated. Yes, I am still pretty iffy on applying to Bryn Mawr ED because of financial reasons plus I have a few other schools in mind…I forgot to add that I am a female Asian American from a very competitive area…not sure if that changes much… but it’s just there is so much competition here that I don’t know if I can really match well with any of my schools! I’m also thinking about studying sociology. Other responses on my threads showed me that my academics are quite low for all the schools I am applying to…still confused about whether I qualify for my schools or not!! But thank you so much

Assuming your unweighted GPA is around 3.6, and with the 1990 ACT, and assuming all state schools are OOS:

Bryn Mawr ED: High Match (your GPA and scores are a bit low, but BMC lets in nearly 50% of all ED applicants)

Haverford - Reach
Wesleyan - Reach
Colgate - Reach
U Washington - Low Reach
UIUC - Low Reach
Lehigh - Low Reach
Villanova - Low Reach/High Match
GWU - High Match
PSU - High Match
UMD - High Match
Syracuse - High Match
Rutgers - Match
UConn - Match

I think it’s a decent list – just make sure you find a safety you like and can afford.

@prezbucky Thank you very much for organizing my college list!!

Sure – now make sure you double-check each of those schools for fit (location, environment, academics, and social vibe) and cost (run the NPC for each). If you only apply to schools you like and can afford, your chances of a positive admissions outcome will be increased greatly.

Hi! Current BMC student here. I applied RD, and I would recommend doing that as well because that way you can compare financial aid offers from other schools. I know ED provides a better chance, but the acceptance rate is already at like 40% and if you do well (mostly As and Bs) your senior year and write a strong essay and do a good interview, you have a very high chance of getting in anyway. Being locked in to a bad, binding financial aid deal is not worth maybe a 10% higher chance of getting in (I had to appeal my financial aid and I know others did as well). I also applied to Wesleyan, at which I was wait-listed. I had a higher GPA, ACT, and SAT, but less participation in extracurriculars. If you have any more questions about Bryn Mawr going forward, feel free to ask!

Oh, also, forgot to mention; I also applied to Haverford but lost interest and didn’t do an interview or visit, which is probably why I got rejected. They find demonstrated interest to be very important.
