Schools: JHU, Rice, UCLA, Northwestern, Wash. U. in st. louis, UPenn, Cornell, dartmouth, Rutgers.

Strong candidate for all, presuming SAT improvement (i.e. up to 2100)
Rutgers is pretty given. UCLA, Northwester, WUSTL, Penn, Cornell, and Dartmouth are all 50/50, but you've got a good shot at JHU and Rice

I really want to say you have good chances because I have stats similar to yours! I'd say your SAT (based on your PSAT) is probably your weakest spot, but then again, you probably already know that. Accordingly, I'd say UPenn, Cornell, and Dartmouth are probably pretty high reaches, do you know what your unweighted gpa is? Anyway, I'd say JHU and Rice are more reasonable reaches based on your current stats. I'm not all that knowledgeable about the other schools, but I'd say based on what I've heard Northwestern, Wash. U. and UCLA are probably high matches for you, so likewise I'd advise getting some pretty solid safety schools before you look too much further (Rutgers may very well be a safety, I don't know too much about it). I'd take some more SAT II's, at least one more, if that's possible at this point in time. Your EC's are about average, but if your uw gpa ends up being within their range, and your SAT's come out better, then you'll probably have a significantly better shot at the ivy's on your list, nothing is for sure with those schools, but you would have a much better chance. Good Luck!

Thanks!! any more thoughts? [also keep in mind at BU, rice, upenn,...i would apply for 7/8 year program]

You are still in 11th grade.....Apply first and then ask...its very silly to post on this forum without an SAT score, but assuming you do well you have good chances

Don't apply to rice/baylor unless you are 1) EXTREMELY convinced you will go into medicine 2) have demonstrated interest in medicine 3) have AMAZING stats on par with HYP applicants. Aim for a 2250 + SAT and 750 + on Chem, Math IIc, and Bio, and you will be in good shape.

chocobear: Point understood lol

CNI: Thanks for the info on rice.

ok chance right now. i'd say your biggest weakness is that your junior-year courseload doesn't look very rigorous. how many AP classes does your school offer?

You are correct, this is a HUGE problem that Ive tried to overcome but Ive done my best working with my counselors. My schedule was...well ruined when i transfered to my current high school.

my school offers a lot of AP classes but i dont remember exactly how many right now. For my lack of ap classes, I wanted to self study some... If I decide to do this, which ones are relatively easier to self study?
