Chances for CA schools? I got you, chance back

Hello guys, now that I've got my SAT scores I'd like to have a try at a chance thread.
I'm a junior, white male from California, middle class

SAT: 720 Reading 740 Math 800 Writing (2260 overall)
GPA: UW 3.9 W 4.67
Rank: Top 10 out of 600 students (Public school)
AP: Biology (4) European History (5), currently taking AP Spanish Lang, AP Chem, AP Eng Lang, & APUSH. Plan on taking AP Gov, AP Econ, AP Calc BC, AP Physics, AP Psych, and AP Art History next year

EC's:
10+ years of soccer, 4 years club, 2 years high school, Defender of the Year 2012, captain sophomore year
3+ years of high school volleyball, currently a varsity player and will play senior year
Geo Bowl - Individual: 3rd freshman year, 2nd soph and junior year. Team: 3rd freshmen year, 4th soph, 1st junior. This is a countywide competition.
Completed a monthlong internship at a local software company this winter (2013-2014)
Attended a summer program at Yale dedicated to foreign affairs the summer of 2013
Assorted volunteering (Beach cleanups, food bank)
Personal tutor since freshman year (helped a guy graduate college, that's notable I guess)
Member of California Young Democrats and JSA
Vice president of Engineering Club at school
This summer I will be volunteering at Stanford for two weeks as a counselor at a soccer camp for underprivileged youth

Misc: I skipped Spanish 3 because of a natural aptitude for language. My essays will be pretty strong, as can be shown by my writing score on the SAT I can write well. As far as awards go, there's nothing extremely notable so far besides basic academic recognition by the administration (Honor Roll, Distinguished Student). In college I'd like to major in political science, international affairs, or international business. I keep an open mind though and recognize my mind will change as my interests do.

Schools I'm planning to apply to:
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD
UC Davis
Claremont McKenna
Dartmouth
Brown

If you chance me I'll for sure chance you back! Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you’ve got a solid shot at every single one of those schools. You seem to be easily on track to meet UCSD. I’d say you probably get into UCLA and UCB as well as all the other UC’s (though I doubt you care about UC Merced and Riverside). Claremont I don’t know much about, but you’re on track for Dartmouth and Brown too. However, keep in mind that those schools are often longshots and random. There’s about a 10% chance for someone to get into Dartmouth.

You’ve done a great job getting into position for it, but who gets into those is largely up to chance. You’ve got as good of a shot as anyone, though-strong EC, great GPA+SAT score.

Side note: did you take the SAT in january? If so, was it just me or was the math curve extraordinarily harsh-2 wrong and i ended up with a 740 :o

radoneagle, yes I took it in January too. That curve was pretty harsh! I missed two problems as well and also ended up with a 740. But what can you do, really?

I agree - you’ve got a good shot at all of them - they are all very competitive so, add a safety or two just to be sure.
Good luck!
