Not much else... I know my extracurriculars are VERY weak and my grades/scores aren't too good either. :(

So what do you think my chances are for Berkeley, Los Angeles, and San Diego? I am considering going into an Engineering or Physical Science major, but I am, as of yet, undecided. Any suggestions as to what college to go to out of the UC's? (I am ELC and got accepted to Davis, Riverside, and Irvine already.)

Thanks!

match everywhere. SD, LA, and Cal don't really care for UCs, although the latter two practice holistic review.

Seems like you're set for all of them...like GPA said, UCs are mainly stat heavy and don't really look at EC as much. You have a nice GPA and Stats. I assume you calculated your GPA with the 4 AP cap right?

No, his UC GPA would have to be lower b/c he took 5 AP/Honors throughout 10-11th. So, his UC GPA would be around... 4.10-15?

Whoops, sorry, my apologies. I didn't calculate the 8 point cap on Honors and AP classes and had simply entered what it said on my transcript. With the cap, my stats would be the following for grades 10 and 11:

Weighted UC GPA: 4.21
Unweighted GPA: 3.875

Same chances... I'd bet an acceptance for either LA or Cal.

Why do all UC applicants look similar? Right down to their crappy EC list...? (no offense, you said it yourself and I sorta agree) Then they have the nerve to appeal...

I think you're alright though... Work on those apps...

You will most likely get into UCLA and UCSD Cal might be troublesome
G.P.A. is what they care about
I scored at 2360 on the SAT but only had a 3.07 HS G.P.A. and I was denied at all three despite high EC involvement, excellent recommendations and an excellent essay

^ well first of all, excellent recommendations for UCs are impossible, considering that they dont consider recs.

ECs are really weak....not even 1 leadership position? that'll hurt a lot. put the volunteering thing on your app; 120 hours for something is a significant contribution

also, you mentioned that you got B's in precalc/calculus, and that'll hurt you if you are applying to engineering programs (considering that's pretty much all math-based)

lucky for you, you have ELC...and your scores are way above the averages for SD. but i'd still say:

SD: in
LA: reach
cal: mid reach

in SD, maybe on UCLA/UCB.
