Chances for Cal?

Hi guys, I would really like to know what you guys think my chances at Berkeley are! I'm OOS at a high school that berkeley knows is very competitive ( maybe 10 graduates go to cal each year). I won't be applying for financial aid, i dunno if this makes a difference with all the economic chaos going on in california.

ACT: 27. I don't really know what happened, but I'm taking the December test. Hopefully shooting for a 30+. If you can chance me for both scores ( 27 and hopeful 30) that'd be awesome.

SAT 2: Math Lvl 2: 600
Spanish: 710
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0):3.8

AP: French, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, Chemistry, Calculus
IB (place score in parenthesis):Full IB <---death. School that does the IB program won very prestigious award for international focus.

Senior Year Course Load:
@ High School :
AP Spanish
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus
AP/IB Spanish Literature
IB Lit
IB History
IB theory of knowledge
IB Projects
@ College
International Economics
Writing Class
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): none

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):

Varsity Tennis (captain), Varsity Soccer ( captain), ASB President, NHS, Drama( costumes), EIHS President ( the IB school, that won goldman sach's award for international focus, inside of my school, i can explain if I need to), on the YAT which is a group of students on the board of education for my state. we are advisors for the superintendent.

Job/Work Experience: None

Volunteer/Community service: Over 150 hours, 100 in spanish by senior year. I started and lead a group that goes around my city and helps hispanics that are having trouble with school because of a language barrier and tutor them one on one. By the end of senior year, i would guess that I would have 200+. Also doing a fundraise for Children's Miracle Network.

Summer Activities: Taking a course at University and doing community service. Also visiting colleges.
Essays: I have a couple ideas. Talking about teachers and how they transformed me. Especially french.
Teacher Recommendation:I have solid ones.
Counselor Rec: she loves me

Thanks everyone! go bears!

Based on last year’s admitted stats, you have a very slim chance of getting accepted. But you would never know unless you apply.

You’ve got to have some fallback schools.

Okay, thanks RML

I understand that Berkeley actually does read the letters of reference. They did admit students with 27s last year, but most of them had GPAs of 4.0 unweighted and higher, weighted and lots of AP results of 5. If your AP average is 5, this will increase your chances.

Berkeley does not read nor look at letters of reference unless they ask for one as part of an augmented review (the ‘supplemental’). If you are asked to fill out supplemental information, they provide a link where a single teacher or counselor can submit an online reference. No more than one, only when they provide the link to you, and only entered online.

Using a holistic admissions process, they will take a range of students in order to complete an interesting and well rounded class, meaning that it is far from a clear relationship between stats and admissions. In a given high school, you will find some of the top ranked students offered admission and then gaps down, sometimes quite a way down the ranking, to others offered a spot. Those in the middle have better stats but they don’t get an offer.

Okay, thanks everyone
